Linzi Ashton testimonial: Peter Barnes, Tommy Booth and Tony Lloyd interview
Linzi Ashton testimonial
Working in the memory of Linzi Ashton, Pocket Television caught up with two former Manchester City players. In the inteview, big Pocket Manchester fans Tommy Booth and Peter Barnes discuss Linzi Ashton and domestic violence. Tommy and Pete were also joined by Greater Manchester Police and Crime Commissioner, Tony Lloyd.
All three were present at Hyde F.C. ground on 10th May 2014. Their presence helped show their fantastic support for The Linzi Ashton Memorial Cup, and for the charity Victim Support.
The testimonial match was held in the honour of Linzi Ashton. Linzi was sadly a victim of domestic violence, and was killed by her boyfriend back in June 2013. Such was the outcry about this crime from the public, that Linzi’s name has remained in the hearts and minds of the North West and the nation as a whole.
A team of former Manchester City players (including Peter Barnes) played in a match against a side made up of police officers, fire-fighters and probation workers.
