MCWFC Season Launch: Open Training & Exhibition Game

Celebrate the start of Manchester City Women’s 2015 campaign with the stars of today and tomorrow.

As part of the club’s Season Launch event on 14 March, City are delighted to announce that there will be an open training session and exhibition game at the Academy Stadium.

They’re also giving their loyal fans the chance to get up close and personal with the players at an exclusive signing session.

Share your stories and hear their thoughts on last season’s Continental Cup triumph, their new home and the new season.

City and England striker Toni Duggan told mcfc.co.uk she is looking forward to spending the day with the fans, who she feels have played a big part in the club’s success.

“It will be a great occasion,” she declared. “I went to City Live last year and it was brilliant for everyone to come together and celebrate the success of the men’s team.

“This event is a celebration for us as a team and it’s recognition of the hard work of the players, fans and staff that did so well last year.

“Hopefully, the fans can come out for us in their numbers and show us their support on the back of a really good year and our success in the Continental Cup.

“Ahead of us is the new season and it’s an advertisement to show how competitive it’s going to be.

“It will also be a nice occasion to show off our new stadium! Not many women’s teams have their own ground and we’re very lucky to have it.

“It’s going to be a fantastic day for everyone and we’re really looking forward to it.”

In addition to the exhibition game and training session, there’ll also be an awards ceremony to reward the fantastic achievements from the 2014 campaign, hosted by Natalie Pike and Jacey Normand.

The categories will include: Goal of the Season, Rising Star, Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year.

There’ll also be live music to keep you entertained throughout the whole day, including a performance from female beatboxer champion Grace Savage.

Face-painters will also be on hand, clapper banners will be available and there will be a skills session on the pitch. City in the Community will also be in attendance with a host of fun activities for you to enjoy.

You can have your photo taken with the Continental Cup!

Tickets for the event – which starts at 1:30pm – are priced at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions. Cityzens will receive half-price admission or FREE ENTRY through the Cityzens portal!

The event ends at 5:15pm, ahead of the first-team’s Premier League clash at Burnley, which kicks-off fifteen minutes later.

Tickets can be purchased online at tickets.mcfc.co.uk and to personal callers at the Etihad Stadium CityStore.

Be part of another fantastic year and celebrate the launch of the new season with Manchester City Women!
