Manchester City 6-0 QPR | Daniel Cheeseman
It might have been some of the easiest 3 points that we’ll ever get at the Etihad, but it’s hard not to come away from today’s game with a big smile on your face!
It was nearly 3 years ago when this exact same fixture produced one of the Premier League’s best ever games, but unfortunately today’s wasn’t quite as exciting because of how one-sided it turned out to be. The only time there was any real tension in the match was the opening 4 minutes or so, but once Sergio Aguero had so fittingly scored the breakthrough goal; the game was essentially over.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget how lucky we are to have players like Sergio in our team, especially because he’s been at our club for over 4 years now (hard to believe, I know), so when days like these occur I try to “drink it in” as much as I can – as some might say. 😉
I must say that the Fernando/Fernandinho combination is definitely growing on me the more and more I see it, as it seems that the two play at their best when they’re playing together. I’m sure that Manuel Pellegrini and co. have been kicking themselves in the past few games for not realizing how good their chemistry is sooner in the season, as they’ve become quite a formidable partnership in midfield, but I suppose it’s better late than never!
In the end there’s not much else to say other than it’s hard not to feel sorry for QPR after today’s thrashing, especially with 3 former Blues featuring in their side, but I suppose the only consolation I can give them is that experiencing the bad times makes you appreciate the good times more – as our fans know only too well!
The Blues now have a tough trip to Swansea to look forward to next Sunday, but if they play anything like they did today then I’m confident that they’ll comfortably secure all 3 points once again!
