Months of speculation has finally come to an end as Kevin de Bruyne joins City from Wolfsburg on a 6-year deal

The club announced their new record signing on Sunday afternoon:

  • de Bruyne started out his professional career at Genk in his native Belgium, making his first team debut in May 2009
  • Known as the “assist king” in the Belgian Pro League, he attracted interest from many top clubs and signed for Chelsea in 2012
  • Spending his first season at Chelsea on loan at Werder Bremen, Kevin managed 10 goals and 10 assists at the Bundesliga side
  • After making just 3 appearances in total for Chelsea, he signed for Wolfsburg in January 2014 on a permanent basis
  • Kevin provided more assists (20) than any other player in Europe last season
  • He will wear the number 17 shirt for City during the 2015/16 campaign
