Manchester City 1-0 PSG – Report & Ratings
Manchester City are into the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time after Kevin de Bruyne’s late goal sealed a thrilling win over Paris St-Germain
After a 2-2 first-leg draw in Paris last week, the tie remained in the balance in Manchester after Sergio Aguero missed a penalty in the first half.
The Blues had Joe Hart to thank for several fine saves at 0-0, with the most notable being the ferocious Zlatan Ibrahimovic free-kick that required the England #1 to react quickly.
But, roared on by a capacity crowd of 53,039 that supplied an unforgettable atmosphere, City held their nerve at the back before de Bruyne’s decisive strike 15 minutes from time secured the win with the team’s first shot on target.
The final whistle brought scenes of pure emotion from the fans at Etihad Stadium, who were already in uncharted territory at this stage in the UEFA Champions League.
The Blues now have the draw for the semi-final to look forward to, which takes place this Friday at 10:30am (BST).

Joe Hart – 8
Quick reactions to save Ibrahimovic’s two free kicks and made himself big to deny Cavani late on.
Bacary Sagna – 7
Worked hard to prevent the threat of Edinson Cavani and kept the ball well.
Nicolas Otamendi – 7
Went to the ground one too many times early in the game, but played far batter as the game went on and consistently won 50:50 duels.
Eliaquim Mangala – 8
Another excellent performance from the Frenchman, promised to keep Ibrahimovic quiet before both games and did just that.
Gael Clichy – 8
A virtually flawless performance, didn’t let Di Maria create anything down the wings and regularly broke forward.
Fernando – 8
Constantly broke up play in midfield, closed down players and rarely let PSG through on the edge of the box.
Fernandinho – 8
Arguably City’s Player of the Season, the Brazilian formed a great partnership with Fernando again and provided the pass that earned City a penalty.
Jesus Navas – 8
Didn’t stop running for 90 minutes, great tracking back and a constant nuisance for Maxwell.
David Silva – 7
After a few sloppy / stray passes earlier in the game, the Spaniard grew with confidence and was influential in almost every City attack.
Kevin de Bruyne – 8
Constantly provided Aguero with delicious passes and deservedly scored a spectacular winning goal.
Sergio Aguero – 8
Didn’t let the missed penalty affect him, came close on several occasions and was outstanding on the ball.
Yaya Toure – 7
The Ivorian was brought on to slow the game down and keep possession and did just that.
Fabian Delph – N/A
Not really enough time to rate but saw the game out and gave Silva a rest.
Kelechi Iheanacho – N/A
Again, not enough time to rate but allowed Sergio to rest a couple of minutes earlier.
