Report: Man City 3-1 West Ham (28/08/2016)
City continued their 100% start to the season with a victory over West Ham on Sunday that took them to the top of the Premier League on goal difference.
The Blues scored first when Raheem Sterling finished off a superb team move and Fernandinho headed in a second from Kevin de Bruyne’s free-kick.
West Ham pulled a goal back in the second half when Michail Antonio nodded in Arthur Masuaku’s cross.
However it was Raheem Sterling who eventually killed the game off when his cheeky finish got the better of West Ham’s defence, earning him his second goal of the day and rounding off a Man of the Match performance.
The season may still be in its infancy, but Pep Guardiola’s side have already put down a few markers with three games gone.
Chelsea and Man United both secured victories on Saturday, which turned the focus on City before the international break, but they responded with a determined display.
